Purpose: This assessment is designed to allow students to work as a group of four to five people to apply their learning of operations management concepts to an organisation and generate solutions to the problems it experiences. This assessment relates to learning outcomes a, b, c, and e.

1. Identify a real-life organization of your choice that is facing a challenge(s) in any of the operations management areas. 2. Provide a description of the challenge (s). Use examples/illustrations to support your discussion. 3. Discuss the possible causes of the challenges. 4. Propose any five (5) strategies that can be implemented to improve the identified operations management areas. (recommendations) 5. Describe any three (3) key resources that need to be present in the organisation for the successful implementation of the identified strategies. 
Submission requirements details: To successfully complete the assessment, students must explain in depth and within the permitted word limit (3,000 words (+/-) 10%) the stated task details. This requires undertaking quality research (peer reviewed articles (most important) textbook, reports, etc.) to achieve high marks. The report should have a minimum of 10 references. The expectations of the assessment will be covered in depth during tutorials.
