Description of Assessment Task and Purpose:
You are required to submit a 3,000-word portfolio of elements: Structured Essay (2,000 words +/- 10%), with appendices including: (a) Management Problem Identification Form (b) Enquiry Proposal Form (500 words +/- 10%) and (c) Ethical Dilemma and Responsible Management Form (500 words +/- 10%).
The 2000 words Structured Essay must critically evaluate one management problem within your work context deemed suitable for enquiry. The narrative presented within the structured essay must critically evaluate arguments from a range of literature required to frame and investigate the enquiry.
The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate your ability to find literature and analyse it critically in order to investigate a management research problem and present reliable evidence in a clear and concise manner. Also, the assessment aims to evaluate your knowledge and application of literature linked to research methods and ethical dilemmas as presented within the submission.
Learning Outcomes Assessed:

LO2 Identify and manage ethical dilemmas in research enquiry, including compliance with university ethical approval processes and codes of conduct.
LO3 Apply principles of research design to plan research enquiry in an organisational context.

Through the production of your portfolio, you will be able to evidence the following key skills:
Subject Specific Knowledge, Skills and Understanding: e.g., Literature searching, Referencing, Planning and Subject-specific knowledge.
Professional Graduate Skills: e.g., personal responsibility, adaptability, written communication, creativity, critical thinking, self-reflection, problem solving, group or team skills, effective time management, and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Emotional Intelligence: e.g., self-awareness, self-management, awareness of others, managing and supporting others, motivation, resilience, self-confidence.
Career-focused Skills: An understanding of the range of skills and attributes required by employers, a range of strategies to present skills and attributes to employers.
Assessment Submission Instructions:
You should submit your final portfolio via the relevant Turnitin submission point, located within the Assessment Area: Submission and Feedback on Blackboard.
Your Turnitin link will be identified by the assessment type and the date of submission for your final assessment e.g., “Portfolio: For Student’s Submitting 00 Month Year”
Students should submit their Assessment on the first working day of week 9, or the date set by admin.
Do ensure you upload your assessment as a single file. You must also guarantee you upload the correct final assessment as all submission are final and no further submissions will be permitted.

10 working days from the submission deadline date.

Title page: Use the Assessment Guidance Template provided within the Module Handbook. Complete the Title Page and ensure it forms the first page of your assessed work. Remember to remove all guidance/instructions before submitting both formative and summative work.

Word count: Aim to meet the word count for all the elements of your assessment. However, normally the final submission is allowed to be within a range of 10% of the specified word count. Note, that for the assessment (unless explicitly advised), the word count starts with the first word of the Introduction and finishes with the last word of the Reflection. The Reference List is not included in the word count.
You must ensure your formatting is set out as per the University of Lincoln guidelines, your font should be a consistent black and type Arial, Size 11, Line Spacing should be 1.5, a clear line is required between paragraphs and text alignment should be Justified. The Reference List and Bibliography should not be justified, please select align left for this element. Margins must be even on the left-hand side, right-hand side, top, and bottom of the page.
