Choose either your own or any large company located anywhere in the world. Imagine you are a Senior Manager in that company. Your task is to write a strategy memo to the Board of your chosen company of around 2,000 words (2,200 words strict maximum) that outlines the priorities for your company using an economic perspective. Your memo needs to cover the following:

• Give a brief background of the company, its strategy and its financial performance. - The degree of competition the company is currently facing (from both domestic and abroad sources) and your expectations for future competitive trends. 
• How well your chosen company is responding to this competition and suggest relevant areas for improvement (e.g., changes to how the firm sets its output prices, identifies and markets its product differentiation, adapts its production technology to minimise costs, secures the labour talent it needs, etc).
• Whether and how your company explicitly addresses ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) within its corporate strategy.
• How your company has/is building resilience in the face of the current difficult economic and financial conditions and recommendations for improvements in that regard.

Your assessment will be evaluated using the Criteria 1 through 3 in the attached marking rubric. Make sure you structure and draft your assignment with its audience in mind, which in this case is your chosen company’s Board. You are expected to use economic language and the economic perspective we have learned in class to discuss managerial and strategic issues.

Your essay should be around 2000 words (with a strict maximum of 2200 words; writing beyond that limit will not be marked). Graphs, reference list and titles do not count against the word limit.

FORMATTING/REFERENCING

Format your document so that it is easy to read and looks professional.

All sources used in the assignment must be clearly acknowledged (e.g. mentioning the source in the text, or academic referencing system). Attach the reference list at the end of the document. Include only the sources explicitly referred to in the text: do not include everything you read for the assignment. The reference list is not included in the word limit.
