Instructions
Individually prepare a REPORT which addresses the following: Select an Australian organisation, either your own if currently employed, or one to which you have obtained permission to interview a person who is either a senior member of the Human Resource (HR) department or, in the absence of a HR department, a senior manager with responsibility for managing HR. Write a report describing, critically analysing and evaluating the HRM policies and practices of the organisation in one (1) OR both (2) of the HR functional areas listed below, focusing on their links to corporate strategy and organisational performance :
• Performance Management
• Rewards/Compensation Management The report should identify the systems used to evaluate, develop, manage or address issues related to employee performance and/or rewards within the organisation, and whether this occurs in a strategic manner, which positively contributes to organisational performance. Describe the process or processes used and discuss:
• Reason(s)/ aim(s) for use
• Issues surrounding its (their) use
• Success or failure of the processes
• Recommendations for modification of current process, and/or elimination or replacement with alternative processes.
