The forces and factors outside the organization that could possibly influence and affect an organization’s performance are known as the external environment It has two environments, which affects the organization which is Specific Environment and which affects all organizations, which is General Environment. Robbins et al (2016, p.34) define the general environment as, “the sociocultural, technological, economic, political/legal and global conditions in the society in which the organization operates”. Although these external factors do not affect organizations to the extent that changes in the specific environment do, managers must consider them as they plan, organize, lead and control. An organization general environment comprises of components that influence firms within an economy. Such factors have a tendency to impact organizations yet, have a tendency to be moderate and more predictable in contrast with impacts from an ordinary firm particular condition. A number of firms experience the poor effects of external variables that thus influence daily transactions in a firm. Therefore, the present macroeconomic powers such as; Inflation, Economic Growth, Interest rates, Exchange rates and Unemployment once in a while decide the position and the way of the general firm performance.
