Description / Requirements
Purpose
This is an individual assignment which aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of one of the key areas affecting property development, namely site identification and evaluation of factors affecting highest and best use (HBU). This assignment builds on the information discussed through-out the lecture series and also in the prescribed text ‘Property Development’ (6th edition) by Reed & Sims (2015).
Instructions The assessment requires you to develop a client report that relates to a potential property development site that meets the client needs. To do this you will:
1. Review the client profile to determine the needs of your client.
2. Identify a potential development site in the local area where you live.
3. Provide advice to a potential investor.
Once the site is developed, it is your clients’ expectation to retain ownership of the development and collect the rent. However, your client is not 100% sure about the market condition in the near future. He is ready to listen to your suggestion regarding the exit strategy after the completion.
