The Eton College Campus consists of 400 buildings in total where the classes are held and has the primary inclusion of various departments of the college along with the laboratories. The college campus also has the containment of boarding houses for the residential students who belong overseas and have undertaken their selective course of education within the Eton College [6]. However, due to some issues that have been visibly faced by the students pursuing their undertaken course of study from the university, a network has been redesigned for the college to mitigate such problems and allow the students with a network that is greater in efficiency in regards to the services and network connectivity.

The network that has been designed for the Eton College consist of two segments, one is the college campus that has the primary inclusion of all the 400 buildings and the other segment consists of the boarding houses where the students live and carry out their education from the college.

The 400-building segment consists of 4 main routers that belongs to a group of 100 buildings each. Hence, it can be stated that each of the 400 buildings are in possession of one router each [7]. The routers of each building and each floor of the individual buildings connect through the switch to the end-user devices that has been provisioned for the faculties and the students to carry out their computational work on a daily basis. Along with the computers, the rooms also consist of laptops to allow the students to connect to the wireless network and access the internet on the laptops.

On the other hand, the other segment consists of the boarding houses for the students. The primary problem of the previous network that belonged to the college was mainly in the boarding houses where the wireless connectivity was not that much efficient. Hence, in regards to the problems faced, the new network has provisioned each 8 boarding rooms with a wireless router that needs to be shared among 8 students belonging to Eton College [8] This will greatly reduce the amount of traffic on the wireless network and allow the students to enjoy better services of internet connectivity. Each of the wireless routers will provision the students with the allowance to connect their laptops, tablets and mobile phones to the network wirelessly.

All the wireless routers and the routers that belong to the 400-building section has been directly connected to the main router that supplies the routers and in turn, the end devices with the required amount of network connectivity and other existing services that are provided by the network. The main router finally is connected to all the servers that provide the entire college network with the required amount of services [9]. There is the existence of 4 main servers performing differently existing services and has been installed as well as connected to the network to carry out specialized services on a regular basis.

The DHCP server will provide all the connected devices of the network that are connected wirelessly with the specific IP addresses that has been provided by the Internet Service Provider. The DHCP server dynamically allocates the IP address to all the end-user devices on a continuous manner. Following this, the Wi-Fi server that is connected to the network will provide with the wireless connectivity of all the devices to the internet in particular.

There is also the shared existence of a Microsoft OneNote server that allows the faculties on one hand and the students on the other hand to shares as well as exchange various files and documents that have a direct association with the educational purposes [10]. In addition to this, there is a cloud based virtual environment that has been integrated into the network for providing the students with a common portal to get hold of all the course based materials for carrying out their education along with other information related to the college at any time of the hour.

Lastly, the main router is continuously monitored by a firewall. The firewall monitors the entry points of the network and tracks the incoming and outgoing transmitted data [11].
