PURPOSE:

The major assignment in this course requires the preparation and presentation of a business plan for a proposed new Assessment venture that you conceive. Item 2 

PARAMETERS:

The group is required to complete and present a business plan for a NEW business to be set up to launch a major NEW process, service, business model product, or market. 

OBJECTIVE:

The objective of your written business plan is to set out a comprehensive, well-argued, supported and well-structured proposal to convince one or more financiers to fund your proposed new venture. For example, this can include to launch a new product, service, process or business model into the market.

Preparatory Details  

You are required to self-form a group of maximum five (5) members. The names of group members must be submitted to the workshop facilitator, in Week 5-6. You will be provided some time to discuss your ideas in workshops but arranging additional times to meet with your groups outside class time will be required (it is recommended weekly group meetings outside of workshops). It is your responsibility to manage your groups and to arrange your own meetings. 

Your group has $100,000 initial seed capital invested by the founding: 

members. It is anticipated you will need to ‘pitch’ for additional funds to support your venture. These funds may be required during the founding episode eg. for machinery requirements, or could be required due to expansion and cash flow challenges after launch to the market. When and how much you need will all form part of your pitch. 

Remember: ONLY ONE MEMBER of the group is to submit to Turnitin, but all members of the group are responsible for any incorrect matching text that may result. 

The group written business plan mark is a group mark. However, the group mark is to be peer moderated, which means individual group members may receive different marks. Each group member is required to complete and submit a group peer assessment form with the written group business plan in Workshop 11.
