Case Study Details:

Mr Bill White, 60-year-old business executive BIBA 15.10 hours to the Emergency Department. He suffered an episode of chest pain that radiated to his jaw and left arm. On arrival to the ED Mr White is alert and orientated and tells you that the pain started about 14.15 hours after a business lunch. He initially thought that it was indigestion and took some antacids. When the pain was not relieved his colleagues called an ambulance.

At the restaurant the paramedics completed the following:

• Inserted an IVC 
• Glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) 0.6mg sublingual (SL), BP 160/90
• Aspirin 300mg orally 
• Morphine 2.5mg IV, pain score 6/10
• Metoclopramide 10mg IV
