Read through the following case study on Mr Wilson.   Mr Wilson is a 76-year-old gentleman born on 05.02.1944. Mr Wilson has been admitted to Swinburne University Hospital onto the acute medical ward with diarrhoea and vomiting for investigation.
Mr Wilson has a history of hypertension, GORD and osteoarthritis. Clinically, Mr Wilson is experiencing dizziness and weakness. He is currently resting in bed as he feels too fatigued and dizzy to walk around. He has not been able to tolerate oral intake and is just having sips of water.
You are the nurse caring for Mr Wilson this morning. During your bed bath, you notice he has an area of non-blanchable redness over his sacrum. When you apply gentle pressure, Mr Wilson states he feels some pain.
After attending to Mr Wilson’s hygiene needs, you encourage him to get out of bed and sit in his hair. He states he does not want to as he is afraid of falling due to the dizziness.
