1.0 Client Brief You are employed by a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. Your client is the Secluded Palms Resort, an isolated retreat. The resort offers luxury villas with many amenities including reliable internet access for their corporate clients. Recently, the Resort has identified they are experiencing slowdowns in internet speed as reported by guests and would like to improve their connection to alleviate this issue. This has coincided with the addition of extra villas over the last 3 years. The current connection technology at the resort is satellite. Management wants you to investigate the requirements to replace the current system with a fibre optic link as it offers much greater speeds than their current system. 
For the initial stage of the project (Assignment 2) you are required to evaluate the client brief and undertake preliminary research in order to understand and define the problem. 

1.1 Details Secluded Palms Resort is remote. It is intended to be visited as a break from the working world for busy people but the Resort management recognise that connectivity is essential in this day and age. When built, Satellite technology was the only realistic option available. Until recently, this equipment was state of the art and delivered the desired outcomes. Time and increased resort capacity has meant the effectiveness of the equipment is now reduced. The satellite system has a bandwidth of 40Mbs (Megabits per second). This bandwidth must be shared to all villas and is also used by the administration and management staff to complete business operations. Historically, most usage in the resort had been corporate in nature but multimedia applications such as social media and streaming services are becoming the norm for retry guests. The past 3 years has seen growth with the number of villas expanding from 37 to 44. It is anticipated that this could grow to as many as 50 by 2026. 
1.2 Available Data (not required for Assignment 2) The resort has collected the following data on client internet usage:

• Number of occupied villas (to June 30th 2021)

• Daily data usage per villa (MB) (to June 30th 2021)

• Daily administration data usage (to June 30th 2021).

• Monthly peak data usage. (to June 30" 2021).
