(a) Calculate the closed-loop transfer function from the disturbance d(t) to the output y(t) and hence write the closed-loop characteristic equation.
(b) Show that a proportional controller is sufficient to achieve zero steady-state error in response to a step reference.
(c) Sketch the root locus, paying particular attention to the existence of break-away or break-in points on the real axis. [Hint: -2 is a break-in point, you can factorise the cubic polynomial as (s+2)(as2 + Bs +7)]
(d) Based on your diagram or otherwise, explain whether there exists a proportional feed-back gain & such that all the closed-loop poles are real and the output converges to zero faster than et.
