Nathan was a 25-year-old accountant who was involved in a high-speed, single motor vehicle accident. one wet and stormy Night. A passing motonst saw his car turned upside down on the shoulder of a dark country road. and called 000. Nathan was rescued by a specialist retrieval team and airlifted to a spinal injunes' unit via helicopter. On arrival, a CT scan confirmed he had a spinal cord inttny, showing a burst fracture at his L2-L4 vertebrae. This fracture forced bone fragments into Nathan's spinal column causing significant damage. He could not feel or move anything below his level of injury 8 could not control his bowels or bladder. His upper body and trunk were not injured and still functioned nonnaly. Nathan was able to breathe on his own but would need to use a manual wheelchair to get around.

Question 1 Define spinal cord injury. and explain the difference between complete verses incomplete injury.
