About The Feasibility Study
This assignment coursework is set as a summative assessment piece to evaluate students learning and understanding of the nature of research and technical processes as well as professional skills in the area of engineering. This is based on carrying out a feasibility study of the proposed research project.

A).  Report: Research and Professional Skills (70%) - This component will be assessed by way of a formal  report covering the feasibility study of the proposed research project. This component will constitute 70% of the final mark for the module.

(B).Presentation: Technical and Presentation Skills (30%) - This component will be assessed by way °la presentation covering the topic of the feasibility study of the proposed research project. The presentation delivery will be timed and should not exceed a maximum of 5 minutes (10 minutes for groups). Additionally, up to 2 minutes (4 minutes for groups) will be allocated for questions and answers. This component will constitute 30% of the final mark for the module.

Report Deliverable (Template and Guide)
Typically as engineers you are required to provide a feasibility study report to support the development of an engineering project. A feasibility study provides analysis of the objectives, requirements and system concepts for a proposed engineering project or activity. It is often carried out as an exercise to help decide if the engineering initiative should proceed or not.
Use sections 2 to 13 of this document as a template and guide to structure the feasibility study report. Please note that the report attributes shown below are generalized for academic research reports. For the feasibility study report. it is expected that you will highlight the following, as appropriate:
a)    Technical engineering considerations.
b)    Research methodology considerations.
c)    Project and risk considerations.
d)    Ethical considerations.
e)    Wider research impact and potential sustainability considerations.
f)    Any other relevant considerations.

2. Abstract
The abstract is a brief summary of your proposed research, explaining why and how you will carry out the research project and what the outcomes and the implications will be of the findings. It should not be more than one page containing a description of the proposed research and a summary of the method(s):
•    Clear statement of overall aim.
•    Approach adopted and primary findings.
•    Conclusions and contribution of the study.

3. Introduction
Provide background information about the topic alea and theme of your proposed research project. The introduction should provide an overview of the feasibility study, including a brief discussion of the research topic and its wider context. A clear statement of the research problem or requirement should be given and an outline of how the research problem will be investigated. The relevance and significance of the problem should also be addressed:
•    Why you have chosen this topic.
•    Historical facts and any statistical trends.

Provide justification of the type of research you will adopt for this project. for instance:
•    Engineering research design project.
•    Simulation or modelling study.
•    Research study based on a survey instrument.
Also, state how your report will be structured and state how you intend to source the required data and information.

4. Aim And Objective
State the overall aim and specific objectives of the proposed research project:
•    Overall aim.
•    Related objectives identified.
•    Research rationale and approach.

5. Literature Review
Provide evidence of theory/related core engineering concepts, framoworks and issues: You should conduct
a comprehensive literature search, critically evaluate relevant research sources, and perform an in-depth critical
review of the work undertaken by evaluating alternative methodologies from the research. Cited work should be referenced in the text using the Harvard style and full references should be given in the references section of the report. The literature review should identify the following:
•    Emerging Vends, innovations arid technology developments.
•    Cntical exploration of advanced engineering concepts and debates.
•    Explanation and justification of the chosen engineering subject.

6. Research Problem Or Question
Provide the rationale behind the problem/question(s) A good literature review will help establish a meaningful 'research problem' • the area of concern you may wish to investigate, explore and resolve. It is trying to solve a question that exists in scholarly literature, in theory, or in practice that warrants academic understanding and systematic investigation. Consider the following questions:
•    What is the problem?
•    How will the problem be addressed?
•    Is there a gap in the current knowledge base?
•    Has a research hypothesis been formulated?

7. Research Methodology
Provide details on the type of research you will be conducting and why The report should outline an appropriate research strategy and method, which identifies how empirical data will be generated.
•    Research strategy/paradigm.     • Data requirements.
•    Approach/designhmplementation/testing.    • Data evaluation strategy.

8. Data Collection And Analysis
Introduce the specific data collection methods and techniques to be used, such as:
•    Data collection methods. e.g. experiment, simulation, engineering design, survey. interviews, etc.
•    Data processing.
•    Data analysis.
State how the data will be analyzed and interpreted, including details of any supporting software systems that are
required. There should be consideration of how illustrations can be used (such as graphs, charts, infographics. images
diagrams. etc.) to support the data analysis and discussion. There will be a need to consider how the findings will be
discussed: noting any emerging trends and patterns in relation to your research question/hypothesis.

9. Ethical Considerations
Prepare a statement of ethical considerations This section of the report should detail how the research project will
be tamed out in accordance with relevant engineering ethics and professional standards. You should identify the importance of the research project being conducted in an ethical manner.

10.research Impact And Sustainability
Identify proposed research impact and any potential sustainability outcomes of the research. This section should detail how the research project relates to wider research impact and any sustainability outcomes. The envisaged research impact (such as academic knowledge, economic and societal aspects) should be identified, including discussion of how such impact could potentially be achieved. Additionally, where the research has the potential to link to sustainability outcomes should be identified and described according to the sustainable development goals (SDGs).

11.project Management Plan
Create a project management plan (Gantt chart/project schedule). The research plan should contain a dear justification of any resources required. The proposed work should be divided into a number of tasks or activities according to a work breakdown structure. There is a need to create a proposed project timeline (Gantt chart) for your research and identify the order in which tasks will be undertaken and the duration of each task should be outlined.

12.risk Assessment
Provide a clear risk assessment table. You should identify if there are risks associated with the proposed research project, including health & safety, technical, environmental and commercial risks.
