Remember: For a level 3 qualification your answers must show good understanding of the concepts you are writing about and our organisational policies and procedures. Most of the time one or two word answers will not be enough to show this so make sure you explain what we do and why we do it well enough.
Plagiarism: Plagiarism is using someone else’s work or ideas and presenting it as your own. Your assessment must be your own work; you cannot use information copied from another person’s assessment. If using extracts from a resource, you need to put the information in your own words. Small quotes from a resource are acceptable however ensure you use quotation marks to indicate it is someone else’s words and reference where the information came from. Plagiarism is a serious matter and has consequences that may include termination of enrolment.
Assessment submission for marking: Submit one assessment for marking at a time, you can start working on the next assessment but don’t submit it until you achieve the one submitted for marking. The submission of an assessment and manager verification at the same time is acceptable but not two or more assessments. Where multiple assessments are received (eg part 2, 4 and 5) one will be accepted for marking and the rest returned unmarked.
About a person or people you support and your role
Most of the questions in this case study relate to a person or people you support. Read all of the questions first and then decide which person or people you will write about.
You must get the person’s (or their family/whanau member/advocates) permission to write about them. You will need to complete a consent form for each person you write about and send it in with your work. This shows your respect for the person’s rights as outlined in the Code of Rights.
Please print a consent form/s for each person you write about in your assessment work and then ask the person you are writing about or their family/whanau/advocate to give their consent for you to write about the person. If you are having difficulty with gaining this consent speak to your Service Manager.
You must have a completed copy of this form for each person you write about.
Scan and email the consent forms to yourself. You can then attach them with the rest of your work for assessment when you email it to qualfications@ihc.org.nz. If you don’t know how to do this speak to your Service Manager of assessor.
