You will set up a Sales Informational business site and include two Calls-to-Action (CTAs) in it.

Your response document (covered later) is written with Microsoft Word. You will also share your business site with the unit convenor, which is very important for marking Purposes.

It would be advisable to go to the deductions section at the end of this guide immediately now to be aware of where you could lose marks if that were to happen.

 

Description

You will set up a Sales Informational business site. You will need to work out a business as if it is in the real world and develop a Sales Informational site for that business. In your work, invent contents for your site and make them like you would in a real business site.

You will include two Calls-to-Action (CTAs) in your site. These CTAs must be proper Calls-to-Actions as defined in the unit. Be clear that just having a feature or function in a website does not mean it is what is defined as a Call-to-Action. You will need to explain why what you have implemented as a CTA is indeed a Call-to-Action  otherwise it will not attract marks. You will need to explain clearly why all three of  those CTAs are definitely functioning as actual Calls-to-Action in your Sales Informational site.

 

There will be three pages in your Sales Informational site.

All pages must be developed by you as pages consistent with and found in a Sales Informational site. There will be a home page, and two other pages that you will need to work out the content for. Think of what these other two pages will be and what purpose or role they play in your Sales Informational site. Altogether the home page and other pages will form a Sales Informational site. No page should be a page typical of other site types (as a couple of examples only, no page in your site should be a page found typically in a Digital Downloads site or a page found typically in an Auction site). In summary, create three pages that form a small Sales Informational site.

 

The marks given to each page of the site will depend on the quantity and quality of the content placed in the page. A pair that places far more content into the home page, for example, than another pair in their home page can achieve greater marks than the second pair but the quality of that content will be considered.

 

Ensure that all contents of your site are the work of you only. If your site contains any copied content from the web, your marks for any page containing such copied content will be reduced according to how much of the page contains this content. Therefore, there will be no benefit in searching the web for content and then including it in your site. Simply invent, within your pair, contents for your site and make them like you would in a business site.

Use the AtSpace account to set up the business site. Use the method in classes to set up the site and implement the two CTAs within the site. When you are choosing a design (template) for your site, you must not implement the template used in Session 9 otherwise marks will be deducted.

Any plug-ins you install must be those that work in WordPress. If the plug-in does not run at all on the page, you will lose marks for that plug-in.

When you have implemented both CTAs in the site, open a Microsoft Word document (“response document”) and explain clearly:

what the two CTAs are in your site

why these two are indeed CTAs

If you write about more than two CTAs, marks will be deducted.

 

Sharing the site

In order for the teaching staff member to access your site to mark it, you must share the site and dashboard with them. Use the steps shown in Session 9 to correctly share them with the staff member. During the assessment time, they will check that they are able to correctly access your site and account. This will be your proof that the staff member marking the assessment can indeed access the site and WordPress administrator area. If the marker cannot access your site and account, it will affectmarking of the assignment and your pair will have to accept loss of marks if this is the case.

Be fully aware that providing access to the staff member is not based on providing passwords. Providing access to others uses an Auto-login link we are not to share passwords in email. Ensure to use the correct method covered in the unit to share the dashboard at AtSpace with other users.

Also keep in mind that you are not to share your WordPress account with the teaching staff member. The teaching staff member is not to take a password to a student’s WordPress account from them as if they were to log into their account. Again, this is the principle of not sharing passwords to accounts with anyone.
