Carol Phillips is a 58-year-old lady who has just arrived at the Emergency Department with a five (5) hour history of 6/10 central, crushing chest pain. She tells you that she smokes up to 30 cigarettes a day, and has done so for 30 years, as she has a high stress job. She hasn’t seen a doctor in two (2) years because the last time she went, she was told she had high cholesterol and needed to change her diet. Carol also states the only exercise she gets is when she climbs the steps at work.
Carol tells you that her mother had her first heart attack at 52 and she also had high cholesterol. Carol has a BMI of 31.0, placing her in the obese range.
