Presenting complaint.

Amanda Johnson, aged 56 has presented to her general practitioner (GP) complaining of lethargy and reduced exercise tolerance and altered bowel habits. Amanda states she has a diet that is high in red meat and processed foods and drinks approx. 8 standard drinks per week. Amanda used to smoke but gave up prior to the birth of her first child 28 years ago. Amanda had blood taken for full blood picture where it was found she was anaemic. Amanda has been booked into the day procedure unit (DPU) for a colonoscopy due to her anaemia and family history of colorectal cancer.

methotrexate.

Ramipril 5mg daily

Discuss the pathophysiology and diagnosis Colorectal cancer. Include in your answer the pathophysiological changes that may have contributed to Amanda’s anaemia
