5. Watch the following dramatized video clip and answer the two questions.

•  Identify the action of the nurse / nurses which may breach the Registered Nurses
  Code of Conduct, and why. Refer to specific standards to support your point.
•  Analyse and discuss how factors including workplace culture and personal bias may contribute to a nurse’s willingness to breach the RN Code of Conduct.

6. Read the newspaper article about a nurse in a community clinic and answer the following
question.

• Do you believe that there was a breach of duty of care and/ or negligence in the
  above situation? Discuss the rationale for your argument.

7. Read the article and answer the following questions.

• Using the Gibbs reflective cycle, reflect on the above situation. The Australian Government introduced new laws and requirements to minimise the inappropriate use of restraints in residential aged care facilities, Titled the ‘Restraint Principles’. The Restraint Principles are contained in Part 4A of the Quality of Care Principles 2014. These were updated in 2019 and 2021. See Quality of Care Principles 2014 (legislation.gov.au)
• List two requirements of the Restraint principles that do not appear to have been implemented for Terry Reeves, and discuss how they may have improved the above situation if they had been.
