Case Study Marcel is 70 years old. He was originally from Spain and migrated to Australia as a child with his family. He and his wife were 2nd generation sugar cane farmers in northern Queensland. However, he retired and sold the farm three (3) years ago due to a downturn in the sugar market. He is married with two (2) children and has three (3) grandchildren. He is 180.5 cm and weighs 116 kg. He is obese with a BMI of 35.6. He has gained a significant amount of weight since retiring. He has a medical history of hypertension and a family history of both Type 1 and 2 diabetes. He was a heavy smoker until he retired and he has the occasional one if he meets up with his former neighbors. He had been more fatigued recently and getting up to the toilet in the night so made an appointment with the GP. Step 1:
