Assessment 3: Case scenario

Abe is a 46 year old Indigenous man from a remote community 200kms outside Alice Springs, NT. He has a thirteen year history of type 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic renal disease (CKD) and hypertension. Abe works as a park ranger for the local government, married with 2 teenage children and is an Elder with cultural responsibilities.
Abe was seen today in the community clinic by the visiting nephrologist to discuss his current
disease status and treatment plan.
Current prescribed medications;
• Ramipril 2.5mg OD
• Frusemide 20mg BD
• Metformin 500mg BD
