Nursing Assignment Help:
Task:
For this assignment you are required to do a case study on ONE of the following patient scenarios.
Patient 1: Ruby is a fifty (50) year old indigenous lady, who lives in a remote community in Northern Australia. She has been seen in the clinic on her community by the visiting Surgical Team, who has found it necessary to bring her to hospital for debridement of a foot ulcer. Ruby is a smoker; otherwise she is fit and healthy.
Patient 2: Peter is a sixty (60) year old Caucasian male who lives in an urban environment. His General Practitioner has referred him to a General Surgeon for Excision of a Basil Cell Carcinoma (BCC - Skin Lesion) from his left forearm. Peter is a moderate drinker, and a little overweight, but otherwise fit and healthy.
Describe the patient’s pathway through their perioperative journey, linking this to the care a nurse would give in EACH of the six perioperative roles.
Please Include:
• A brief introduction to the case study by introducing your patient and describing the condition being treated.
• Remember the focus of this assignment is the nursing care given for the particular patient you have chosen, in each of the perioperative roles, and what the nurses actually do. The patient’s social circumstances and surgery are relevant where they have an impact on what the nurse needs to do for their care.
• Include legal and infection control measures relating to the nurses and the care they give.
• Your word limit should be divided approximately between each of the six (6) roles.
• A conclusion.
