Nursing Essay Writing Assignment Help

Task: 1 Topic: The introduction of the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion in 1986 signalled the beginning of change in the way that health professionals educate and empower individuals and populations. Using the action areas of the Ottawa charter for health promotion and YOUR health promotion project (from Expo task), explain how the nurses’ role and the concepts of Health Literacy, Health Education and Health Promotion relate to empowerment of your target population. Instructions: Using the Health Promotion program YOU are developing for the Expo Assessment, demonstrate your understanding of how the key Ottawa Charter actions apply in regards to YOUR target population or community. This essay should discuss how health literacy, health education and health promotion contribute to empowering this population and the nurse’s role in providing them. The use of headings is encouraged in this essay, with the Ottawa Charter actions the most logical choice. Within the discussion around each Ottawa action and how it relates to YOUR program, connections should be made where appropriate, regarding literacy, education and empowerment for YOUR particular target population. For example; if discussing the health literacy of an aged multicultural population that you are targeting for a cardiovascular health promotion program; what plans have you considered to address this in the delivery of your campaign? How might literacy impact the success of your program? What Ottawa Charter action is at work here? Task: 2 Students are to work in groups of 3-4 and develop a NURSE LED health promotion program or strategy to address ONE health issue identified through research conducted within their own community. The health promotion program is to be assessed in three (3) ways; 1) Group work Students are expected to be accountable for participation and contribution in the development of the health promotion program. Working as a team requires frequent communication, regular contributions and healthy and respectful discussions and sharing of ideas. Peer support is very beneficial to learning and enjoying the assessment task. All students are to provide evidence of participation, inclusion and contribution to both the development and delivery of the group program by completing the declaration page associated with their section of the program document. They are also to present their program as part of a cohesive team during the Health Promotion Expo. 2) Written Document The written document is to contain evidence for each stage of the development of the program; the assessment, analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Each group must produce ONE online submission of this document and it must be submitted on the day of the Expo presentation. The group is to fairly distribute the workload between the team and each member contribute their part, to give a total of 1600 words (+/- 10%). The document is to provide data and health promotion principles, applied from the course content, as to why the program has been developed this way. The document is to provide evidence, explanations and challenges etc., that have been addressed in the development process. The document must show consideration for key issues such as community strengths, empowerment and capacity building, social justice, cultural or political factors, sustainability, community stakeholders and the role of the nurse as an agent of change. 3) Oral Presentation The presentations will take place during a Health Promotion EXPO scheduled later in the semester. Each group will be given a table and display board, located around the room to present their Health Promotion Program. Students will be able to walk around and view their peer’s work when not presenting their own programs. Displays and presentations can be as creative as you like; can include posters, videos, flyers, props, etc. The presentation is to be given by ALL members of the team and needs to address the aims or goals of the program, who might be involved or impacted by the program, how it might be implemented, why it is needed, how you will know if it will make a difference, and so on... The program can be displayed, supported or delivered using various media (to be supplied by students), but the presentation must include an oral component where students will convey their understanding of the program to the academic assessor during the assessment of the task. The assessor will also ask each student ONE related question (from a selection of questions available to the students prior to the assessment) about their program during the EXPO presentation and the student is expected to be able to explain their response.
