For Assignment 2 Reflective Blogs you are required to submit three (3) ‘Blogs’ of approximately 500 words each.

The topic of the blogs should be the relevance of Safety and Quality standards (The NSQHS and the ACQS) to the practice of a registered nurse or nursing as a profession.
Each of your three blogs should focus on one of the Aged Care Quality Standards OR the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. This means you will need to choose THREE different areas to focus on.

You can choose to reflect on the Standard as a whole, a Criteria of the standard, one of the Items in the standard or a specific Action recommended by the standard.
If you wish you can combine a standard from the NSQHS and the ACQS to discuss them together – ie.
Partnering with consumers and Consumer dignity and choice. However, this would only be ONE of the blogs and you will also need to complete another TWO.
For example, if you chose the NSQHS Standard 2 Partnering with Consumers you could choose any one of the following to focus on:
• NSQHS Partnering with consumers and ACQS Consumer Dignity and Choice (Linked Standards)
• NSQHS Partnering with consumers (NQSHS Standard)
• Partnering with patients in their own care (Criteria)
• Healthcare rights and informed consent (Item)
• Action 2.4 - The health service organisation ensures that its informed consent processes comply with legislation and best practice (Action)

This would form ONE of your THREE blogs.
You can also further refine your discussion to focus on a population of choice, ie. Paediatric patients, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander clients, Rural or remote health services.
The aim here is for you to choose a topic that is authentic to your experiences and interests.
