• Nursing Informatics Specialist (NIS) Applying the project management concepts in facilitating project initiation with workflow analysis and gathering of system requirements.
• Action steps you would take as an NIS to propose projects or change in the organization while considering the project management concept and process that you have identified.

Include a discussion on the following content under each of the respective sections:

1. Analyze 3 evidence-based practice articles that identifies a systems approach (software or clinical programs) beneficial for the organization in its project management process.

2. Apply the PIECES framework in describing the problem statement. Explain the problem or issue that requires the use of technology and its economic benefit supporting the clinical need or business growth. Example: Expanding the use of Telehealth in Promoting Wellness Visits during a Pandemic

3. Describe the proposed clinical or technology solution on how the NIS could apply the concepts of project management in implementing the project or change. Provide 2 workflow examples (current and future) of both functional and technical requirements on how the proposed project can promote safety and improve the quality of patient care.

4. Create a project proposal that a NIS can present in generating buy-in and support incorporating project management concept and process. 

• Project scope (executive summary, mission, vision, and objectives) and project metrics
• Guiding principles, project assumptions, key success factors, organizational structure
• Project plan with work breakdown of tasks and activities
• Basic budget and project cost analysis for technical, training, go-live resources
• Communication strategy and risk management plan
