You should structure your essay using the following format:
– an introduction which lets the reader know the key areas and concepts within your work. Your introduction should clearly identify your chosen age range.
– one or two paragraphs presenting a review of the different types of relationships for people within your chosen age range.
– a critical discussion highlighting how relationships can impact positive mental health for people within your chosen age range. ie. positive impact on their sense of self, self-image, self-esteem, emotional wellbeing, social engagement and integration, education, employment, sense of personal safety, housing.
– a critical discussion highlighting how relationships can impact people experiencing mental health concerns / mental illness in their recovery ie. protective factors, emotional wellbeing, disclosure and help seeking behaviours, safety, sense of personal safety, practical supports, mental health professionals, counsellors
– a concluding paragraph which offers a summary of the key areas and concepts which have been presented in your essay.
You may find it helpful to structure the main body of your work using subtitles. Use the marking criteria to guide your thinking about the content of this assignment.

Case study:
You are a nurse working in the Accident and Emergency department who has been asked to meet with 25-year-old, Ravi to assess his mental health and risk to self and others. Ravi is currently living in Sydney. He moved to Australia from India 2 years ago on a student visa with a partial scholarship for his studies. He is studying nursing, but the Covid-19 pandemic caused some problems, and he has recently been finding it difficult to keep up with his studies. He reports he was in a relationship with another male nurse, but his boyfriend broke off the relationship 3 weeks ago when he found out Ravi’s family are arranging for him to marry a girl back home. Ravi’s family are pressuring him to come back soon to meet this girl. He has not told his family he does not want to marry this girl, and he is frightened of telling them he is gay. He rang the telephone helpline expressing thoughts of not coping and wanting to die. The helpline were concerned about his safety as he admitted he had taken an overdose of over the counter medication to end his life . The police and ambulance were called to take him to hospital. Recently he says he has had trouble sleeping, feeling sad all the time, has trouble concentrating, has thoughts about dying, some weight loss

Details: Using scholarly literature, critically reflect on one aspect of the mental health care noted within the case study.
Task: Critically reflect on one aspect of the mental health care noted within the case study.

Your work should include:
-a brief introduction to your work
-a description of the area of mental health care being considered
- an analysis of the care using literature which considers positive aspects of the care and areas for potential develop-ment.
-A brief conclusion
PART B: 20% - 10 minutes videoed presentation
Aim of Assessment: This assessment is a follow up from assessment 2, part A, which encourages students to critically reflect on the case study.
Details: This assessment encourages students to critically reflect on the consumer’s needs to design two nursing interventions with associated rationales.
Task: Review the case study. Identify one specific consumer need. Design two nursing interventions and present your rationales for the interventions.
Your recorded video presentation should include:
A brief introduction of yourself and a plan for the presentation A description of the consumer’s need.
Two nursing-based interventions which will address the consumer’s need. Include details about how the intervention will be undertaken.
At least one rationale for each nursing intervention, critically reflecting on what you would do, how, why, potential benefits and challenges.
Your presentation should include no more than 6 PowerPoint slides.
Your work should include scholarly literature and a reference slide.
You should upload your videoed presentation to YouTube as UNLISTED.
You should prepare a word document with the links to your presentation and a copy of your slides. Please add this information to the end of assessment 2, part A, so you submit ONE DOCUMENT ONLY for assessment 2 using the Turnitin link.
