• Vascular Surgery
• Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Major General Surgery
• Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology

Additionally, the ICU supports other Level 5 Intensive Care services in the region and offers:

• Rapid Response service
• Intensive Care Liaison service
• Central line and vascular access support
• Comprehensive education program, including simulation, small group sessions, large course    administration, and pre-vocational training in Medicine and Nursing
• Research program.
• Critical Care Echocardiography Accreditation
• Hunter Retrieval Service, based within the ICU
• ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) service
• Organ and Tissue Donation service
• Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) service, including Home TPN
• Stream leadership to other District ICUs
• Telehealth services for advice on critically ill patients across the district (HNE Health, 2021)

Research
