Social and spiritual history: Rose is a widow and has one son (24 years old) who lives with her on the third floor of a block of units. Rose works as a receptionist primary school. She practices Judaism and normally attends worship services at the synagogue on Saturdays.
It is now day 1 post-operatively, she has two bellovac drains in-situ. The wound area is covered by an island opsite dressing. Urinary catheter output has been satisfactory. Vital signs are stable, IV therapy and PCA are insitu. Intravenous antibiotic cover has been prescribed. Mrs. Halpern is reluctant to move due to pain.
