Law Assignment:

Any person who issues a warning about a celestial body that is about to collide with the earth’s atmosphere, without the prior authorization of the Bureau, shall be guilty of an offense punishable by a fine of up to $1 million. Tom Goode and Margot Leadbetter are long-time friends and have been charged with offenses under the Astronomy Act 2017 (Cth) (the Act). Tom and Margot head up the Bermagui Astronomical Society. Brian is the President and Margot is the Secretary and PR manager. Tom and Margot grew up together in Coonabarabran, New South Wales, not far from the Siding Spring Observatory. Their dads both worked together at the observatory and they encouraged Tom and Margot in their study of the cosmos. The Bermagui Astronomical Society is an active community-based organization with over 200 members devoted to furthering the community’s understanding of the cosmos. Their members refer to themselves as the ‘Star Gazers’ and they mostly communicate with each other using a ‘closed group’ members only Facebook page but they also have a regular website site which they use to further the community’s understanding of the universe.
