Discuss how your organisation should effectively manage the implementation of the action plan to mitigate against failure with reference to organisational change theory. Critically evaluate the situation of your organisation to identify a problem to be solved or opportunity to be explored to bring about an improvement in a service. The evaluation must consider the relevant economic, environmental, legal, organisational and/or socio-political factors. You must relate this to section on 'thinking and planning strategically' theories/ideas.
Finally, produce a situation-statement that states the problem to be solved or the opportunity that needs to be explored and then the impact of that situation on the organisation.

What resources are required to implement the change?
Identify the resources required to bring about the service improvement. Resources could include staff and equipment. Provide a rationale for the choice of resources. You must consider theories/ideas on how to manage resources, including staff and budgets. Remember staff may need training.

What must be done to implement the change?
Create a clear and achievable service improvement action plan based on relevant published research and what is deemed to be best practice. A Gantt chart must be included to illustrate the project schedule. Specify with rationale your key performance indicators, which must be SMART (specific, measurable/quantifiable, achievable. relevant, time-limited).

How is success measured?
Critically discuss the impact of the action plan on the service or service users in the short. medium, and long term and highlight key performance indicators You must consider quality management and performance improvement issues.
