Abstract

Context: Mis-interpreted requirements are considered as a major reason behind a software project to be declared as a failure, Requirement elicitation is one of the crucial steps in requirement engineering. Artificial Intelligence being a not so explored domain we use the same methods, techniques and artifacts as that of other traditional domains, which may not completely satisfy the input required in form of requirements from the stakeholders

Objective: The main objective is to reduce the problems faced by developers during requirements engineering especially during requirement elicitation by creating a generalized template ie., Artifact model that reduces ambiguity among the developers and customers while fetching requirements and specifications for developing a AI intensive systems. Method: Surveys can be conducted to find the major problems faced by the developers during real-life interactions, by analyzing the results obtained and determining the reasons for the cause of the problems, a generalized template is developed to overcome the problems. Finally, a case study can be conducted to check the effectiveness of the template produced along with its advantages and disadvantages.

Conclusion: If proved effective, the developed template may be used by various organizations to fetch requirements in a generalized manner as it overcomes the problems faced in RE stage for developing an AI intensive system.
