The partnership decided that goodwill should not appear in the accounts of the partnership and that no private exchange will take place between the partners.
On Nandi's retirement from the partnership on 31 July 2021, the following was discovered:
Land and buildings are considered to be valued at R1 250 000
Plant and machinery are considered to be valued at R120 000
Nomthemba, Njabulo and Ndumiso will shares profits in the ratio of 2:2:1
The partnership is considered to be worth R750 000
Nandi will be paid out in cash upon leaving the partnership
Nonthemba will contribute R150 000 more cash to the partnership after Nandi retires

Additional information:
Due to the growing amount of demand for their products, CalQlate, decided to expand its operations and open up a new branch in the Eastern The directors decided to fund the expansion by issuing more class A shares. This is the only share issue of this class that has occurred since incorporation. The shares were issued at an issue price of R25 each. The share issue was offered to the public on 1 March 2020 and the closing date for applications was 31 July 2020. The share issue was underwritten by ASBA Bank and was oversubscribed by 15%. Shares were issued to the successful applicants on 1 August 2020 and the unsuccessful applicants were refunded on the same day. Underwriter’s commission amounting to R375 000 and other share issue costs amounting to R125 000 were paid on 15 August 2020.
On 1 November 2020, the directors declared a dividend of 350 cents per class A The dividends were paid out in cash on 31 January 2021.
Profit for the year was R7 930 000 for the year ended 28 February 2021 (28 February 2020: R5 850 000)
