He was nearly 20 years older than me, but that didn’t seem to matter. He was a beautiful man and I just knew I loved him. We married and had two children. When Richard’s work finished in Malaysia, we moved to Australia where our children finished their education. This was the reason I came to Australia. But now, I don’t feel there is anything here for me. Yes, I have my children, but they have their own lives and are extremely busy. I feel very lonely. I think of my brothers and sisters and feel isolated from my own family. I didn’t even get home to Malaysia to say goodbye to both my parents, who are no longer alive. My reason for being here was my husband and now he is gone too. Now I wonder why I am here. I don’t feel hungry so I don’t prepare meals, I don’t sleep well and no one seems to care. My daughter drops by most weekends, but she breezes in, talks a lot, then goes. I’m not sure she has even asks me how I am.
