The Reflective Diary

Each week students will need to complete a reflective diary documenting how they have progressed with the per-sonal health initiative, whether it has been easier or more dicult than expected and how they feel they are progressing.The ongoing diary is about reflection and should address the content in the PHI Contract. Keeping an up-to-
date diary allows students to extract relevant information for use in the final report and ensures students will not forget what happened along the way. The reflective diaries are an integral part of successfully completing this assess-ment.

The reflective diaries will be submitted weekly via vUWS and are considered part of your pre-tutorial preparation, having therefore an impact on your tutorial participation mark. You are expected to submit 7 reflective diaries in total; starting in Week 6 and finishing in Week 12. Reflective diaries need to be submitted by Sunday of the respective week. The reflective diaries do not need to be extensive and are there as a tool for you to better complete your PHI Report. Use it as you feel is most appropriate to your own needs. Consider writing down what you actually do to change behaviour (e.g. join a gym, dietary changes, how many laps swam over how many days) and note actions taken, barriers, and what helped you achieve (or not) your goal. Your tutor will be available to discuss any issues during tutorials or online through vUWS. Feel free also to use the Discussion Board to bounce ideas and experiences with fellow students. This helps maintain momentum and suggestions to overcome barriers can be explored.
