Background
Vera is a 65 year old woman with COPD. She is a retired cleaner who lives alone and enjoys spending time with her 2 young grandchildren. She has difficulty walking on the flat and showering and is having trouble hanging clothes on the line. These activities produce breathlessness and low back pain as she has had a previous fusion of L4 and L5. As a result, her daughter assists her with most ADLs. She is keen to be able to return to gardening and be less breathless and fatigued with her grandchildren.
