For the purpose of this assessment you are asked to plan an interactive science curriculum that includes three learning experiences that would be delivered to teach children a range of scientific concepts. In responding to this task, it would be helpful for you to consider the assessment as consisting of 2 parts.  

Part 1: Practical component

The practical component of the assessment asks you to provide three science plans for an intended science curriculum. You can use a planning format of your choice, but need to include the following details in for your science curriculum:  Your chosen science question.

2. Two associated scientific concepts your plan will investigate 

3. What you want the children to learn (intended outcomes) 

4. Identify three different modes of delivery you will use  

5. How the science curriculum will be implemented: Where? When? How often? How will you prepare the environment? What type of materials/resources will these draw on? 

6. Who it will be for; individual children or small or large group? 

7. Three intentional teaching techniques that will be drawn on to teach the content of the science curriculum

Part 2: Written component  
The written component of the assessment asks you to demonstrate critical understandings of the integration of theory and practice. This requires you to provide clear rationale for points 1- 7, making clear links between this and the design of the science curriculum.

• The key learning science outcomes and how these link with the EYLF, VEYLDF, Victorian Curriculum and Australian Curriculum
