Highlights
Aims
These are just examples and you are free to choose an alternative product/process. You should consult with your supervisor to make sure that your idea is fit for purpose and is directly relevant to health informatics
This assignment also has a formative element, and students are required to keep a journal throughout the design and test process which records each stage of the process including thoughts, reflections and feedback. The journal does not form part of the summative assessment but journals will be reviewed at each supervision session by the lecturing staff
Clearly state the health informatics gap in the market that you have identified and the problem or issue you are attempting to solve
Clearly identify the health environment to set the context for the product/process development
Formulate an argument to justify this development drawing upon the needs assessment undertaken
Utilise the skills for academic writing – in other words, your writing style (including references) must conform to the usual requirements of a standard academic essay, even though the format of the work will be different. References should be present at each and every stage of the portfolio.
Portfolio
Present a portfolio of evidence representing the evidence supporting the product/process and the stages undertaken in the design process. The portfolio is not a journal rather a selection of carefully chosen items that fit together to show the work undertaken.
