  • The new deadline is Sunday April 25 2021. If illness or another difficulties will prevent you from meeting the deadline, please apply for ECs.
  • Please, submit one document in pdf format to QM+.
  • Please, add R code needed to replicate your results to the appendix.
  • Please, report only final models in the main text and format the information in a publication-style table. Our lecture slides have numerous examples of such tables. If you want to show additional models, move them to the appendix.
  • Please, number gures and tables.
  • Please, describe what a gure or table shows in your own words.
  • Please, include figures or tables only if they are necessary (they contribute to answering the research question).
  • Please, write complete sentences.
  • Please, round numbers to two or less digits after the decimal point.
  • Please, use the point as a decimal separator.
  • You may assume the methods you have used (e.g., t-test, linear regression, etc.) are understood by the reader and do not need defnitions.
  • You do not need to add regression equations to the main text.
  • Your answer to Part 2 should look like a research paper. Provide intuition for what you are doing but remember you are not writing a statistics textbook.
  • You should assume an alpha level of 0.05 (tolerance for false positives).
  • The word count is 3,000 | I will not apply word count penalties but the best essays are concise, precise and to the point and I will deduct marks if an essay contains too much unnecessary information. In this assignment please pay more attention to prose and presenting and explaining the findings to the reader. The appendix does not count towards the word limit.
  • Good luck!

Hint for Part 2: In this "data essay", we focus on data analysis similar to what you would see in a research article, so have a look at some for inspiration. Therefore, you should formulate your hypotheses as directional statements like we did in the beginning of our course using the provided theory to motivate
the hypotheses. But remember to show that you understand you are testing the null with a two-tailed test. An alternative directional hypothesis should look like this:
H1: An increase in X, leads to an increase in Y.
Before, you interpret your analysis, you should describe your main variables. You then interpret your analysis. In the analysis, you only discuss nal models. There should be no tables or graphs showing us a model or relationship that does not contribute to answering the research question (e.g., a model where you did not correct for heteroskedasticity if there is any.). You can add these tables and graphs to the appendix. Whenever you add a table or a graph, you must describe what the table or graph shows. For the discussion of the regression models, you should let us know what kind of model you use.
