You may use your textbook, Health Canada website, professional online resources prepared for health care professionals, hospital teaching sheets, and journal articles to complete your teaching assignment. It is not acceptable to use online resources written by laypeople for parents.

• This is an individual, not a group, assignment.
• The teaching plan must be neat, organized, and word-processed. It will be in a binder with each topic separated and marked (can use dividers, post-it notes, etc) for ease of finding the topic to be taught.
• Use point form.
• You may use illustrations/pictures as long as you acknowledge your source.
• You must use the 6th edition APA format. Failing to do so constitutes plagiarism.
• It is your responsibility to ensure that your Professor sees your teaching plan prior to the beginning of your first shift caring for a postpartum mother.
• This teaching plan must be with you during every shift in the unit.
• You are responsible for teaching your client the topics that have not been signed off as taught and comprehended.
• Plan time on your organizational plan to teach.
