There is the prevalence of childhood disability in the families who are basically poor single parent’s families. (Park and Turnbull 2002, p. 159). Poor families of disabled children are affected more severely then families of those children who do not consist of any disability. The following table shows the threshold of households in poverty under the ages of 65 and above the ages of 65 consisting of 3, 4 or 5 persons relating to children under the age of 18. How poverty prevails and leads to difficulties for the householders consisting children with disabilities in the worrisome state. Disabilities caused due to unavailability health care issues: Approximately 20 percent of the US population suffer from disabilities due to a wide range of medical issues (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2001; DeJong et al., 2002; U.S. Census Bureau, 2000, cited in Drainoni et, al., 2006, p. 101). Adults with functional limitations require one-third of the physician’s percent of during the night hospital stays and 40 percent of all treatments and refills (Dejong 2002, as cited in Drainoni et, al., 2006 p. 102). These people with disabilities suffer certain barriers which lead delay access to needed care to 20 to 30 percent of the children and 30 to 50 percent adults cut across health programs due to poverty (Bingham and Beatty 2003, cited in Drainoni et, al., 2006 p.103).
