For this second part of the PAT, you are required to identify a unique entrepreneurial opportunity that is connected to the selected business you ‘visited’, that will add value to that business and that has the potential to develop into a unique business idea.

Remember that your idea must be unique – it may not be an existing franchise, using the existing company code of conduct and marketing strategy sourced off the net. All this comprises plagiarism.

Show evidence that you can:

  • use science and technology effectively and critically, showing responsibility towards the environment and the health of others?
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the world as a set of related systems by recognising that problem-solving contexts do not exist in isolation?
  • Develop an entrepreneurial opportunity?

Instructions: Design a business proposal for a ‘product’ that you will pitch to your Tourism teacher. Your ‘product’ must comply with the following “non-negotiables” in order for the proposal to be considered.

a) The ‘product’ must be environmentally sustainable and show a carbon hand-print;
b) It must create an opportunity for local people to be empowered and uplifted/upskilled while at the same time adding value to the business you identified in PAT 1;
c) Your proposed marketing methods must be completely paperless and cost-effective;
d) You must be using technology to pitch this proposal. (this is the visual oral presentation part of the task).
