A residential building is constructed from a multitude of different materials and building components. It is imperative that a designer/builder/manager has a solid knowledge base regarding ?all of the bits and pieces? that form a building in order to not only understand it?s overall construction methods, but also the construction sequence and planning. Questions 1) Understand the interrelationships, behaviour and function of building components in residential buildings 2) Describe different residential construction systems. 3) Sketch typical construction details freehand or preferably via an elementary CAD package. 4)Identify and locate appropriate building services
