Summary and Purpose of Assessment
This task is the third of three tasks you will need to complete for this course. You will research a topic directly related to your discipline area. This task has 5 parts.
The purpose of this task is to develop the following skills and knowledge:
· Prepare and conduct online research
· Apply analytical and critical thinking skills
· Synthesise information
· Produce academic style writing suited to text type
· Reference sources using appropriate conventions
Assessment Instructions
In this task you will individually research and write an academic report that provides facts and discusses the research. Your report is on the topic you chose for the Annotated Bibliography – Assessment Task 2.
All parts of this assessment must be submitted through the assignment section of Cluster 1 (Read and Write) Canvas Shell.
Final word length: 950- 1200 words
Part 1. Time Management - Set study and due dates in your Calendar. Each part of your assessment has a due date. All parts must be submitted through Canvas on the due date.
1.1 Go to your Calendar in Canvas (Left side Colum under Courses) and check the different due dates for each part. Schedule your study time to work on this assessment and take a screen shot of your calendar detailing the times you will use to study. Upload to Canvas.
Part 2. Topic focus
2.1 You will use the topic of your Annotated Bibliography from Assessment 2 and refine the topic by turning it into a question that you can answer. This will be done in consultation with your teacher. Submit the focus table through Canvas. This must be submitted before the deadline. Use your Calendar to remind you of deadlines.

Part 3. You will continue with your online research that you began in Assessment 2 Annotated Bibliography
3.1 Research additional articles for your report. Go to the Library page and begin your research. Find at least 3 articles that look relevant to your topic and ‘pin’ them to your ‘favourites’. Take a screen shot of your ‘My favourites’ page and upload onto Canvas. Use your Calendar to check and remind you of deadline for the submission of this part.
3.2.
Use a range of suitable academic websites, books and journal articles from the RMIT Library databases to find at least 1 more research source. Fill in the information of this source in the CRAAP table provided. Submit through Canvas. Use your Calendar to remind you of deadlines.
