Introduction
This document includes 3 fictional cases, which we would like you to prepare a solution for and share with us before11AM Wednesday the 8th of August. The purpose of this exercise is to get an insight into how you work and how you approach different projects, which you could face in the role of a Pricing & Data analyst at Travix International.

In the first case, you face a data combination problem where you are provided with datasets for different dates that need to be combined and then analyzed. In the second case, you are asked to analyze the effects of new payment settings for the Travix label Cheaptickets.ch in Switzerland and in the third case you are provided with a list of changes in sales policy for the German brand Flugladen.de and asked to investigate the effects.

Data
In the attachments you will find four different files: 1 zipped folder (including 32 CSV files) and 3 excel files. The zipped folder includes files for the data combination exercise in case 1 and the excel files, ‘CH merge.xlsx’ and ‘DE_merge.xlsx’ include order information and should be used in cases 2 and 3, respectively. You are also provided with a file (Info.xlsx) including information about the variables in the datasets. Please make sure you have received all the files mentioned above.

The zipped folder with csv files includes daily information on bookings. More precisely, you will find information on what kind of bookings are coming in as new bookings, which bookings have been changed and which have been cancelled. In addition, you have information on which airline the booking was made with, which route and how much we earned or had to pay for the acquisition.

‘CH merge.xlsx’, includes flight information per order including financials for the Travix brand Cheaptickets.ch from 01.12.2013 till 24.02.2014. In this dataset you will find information about how many orders were made in the period, through which channel they came, with which airline they were booked, which payment methods were used to pay for the bookings, how much we charged for the booking, how much we earned, etc.

‘DE_merge.xlsx’, includes the same kind of information as ‘CH_merge.xlsx’, but for the German Travix brand Flugladen.de for the period 01.07.2013 - 01.10.2013.
‘Info.xlsx’ includes information and explanations about terms and codes used in the datasets which you might not be familiar with. Note that if you still have question regarding clarity of the data do not hesitate to contact us.

It is up to you which software and methods you use to solve these cases, but we ask you to summarize your findings and logical a presentation format targeted for a business audience.

Case 1
In this exercise, you will be working with the CSV files in the zipped folder ‘TM_datafiles’, which include information about new, cancelled and changed bookings. Use this data to solve the two exercises below.

•    Compile the files in the zipped folder ‘TM_datafiles’ into one file.
-    How efficient is your method?
-    Can your method be used to compile the 365 files of 1 year?

•    Estimate the benefit/loss due to cancellations and changes from 14.12.2013-13.01.2014. 
-    Do you notice any difference between airlines?

Case 2
In the last months, some changes were made to the payment settings for Cheaptickets.ch, which are summarized in the file ‘CH_merge.xlsx’. Detailed information about the payment settings is contained in the sheets “Payment fees” and “Payment costs”.

• What were the main effects of these changes? 
• Do you find these changes to be beneficial for Cheaptickets.ch? Why/why not?
