• The concepts of Business Improvement has evolved over the last few hundred years, with ideas, principles and tools being developed to suit the environment of the day.
• We have seen the significant changes in the business and life science environment, particularly over the last few years.
• Like any principle or tool, it must evolve to recognise our current environment and the tools themselves must be agile and adaptable to be relevant for today’s environment as well as predict the near future.
• Principles such as ‘Let the Customer Pull the Product’ may become obsolete, with the current principle needing to be one requiring greater agility and adaptability, rather than expecting a stable supply chain.
• The concepts of ‘Waste’ has evolved to include many more aspects, such as wastes associated with a digital age.
• The concept of 5S has evolved to include, Safety, Sanitisation (in Covid times) and now should include the impact of society.
• You are required to select two aspects of the concepts associated with Lean, Six Sigma, CAPA, or Design for Six Sigma and develop a revised version of that concept to reflect todays business society. Aspects can include, the lean principles, lean wastes, value and non-value, any of the
• lean tools, six sigma principles, any of the six sigma tools or techniques, the concept of CAPA, the concept or tools associated with Design for Six Sigma.
• Describe the revisions of the concept/tool and outline how this revision is more appropriate for todays environment.
• Provide and example to demonstrate how the new tool/concept could be used.
• Add a Reference Section to include any relevant references that you found appropriate.
• Develop a 5 minute video summarising your research methodology; reference sources used, key findings and the outline of the revised model/tool/technique - Use Harvard referencing.

Instructions
1. You are required to select two aspects of the concepts associated with Lean, Six Sigma, CAPA, or Design for Six Sigma and develop a revised version of that concept to reflect today’s business and life science environment. Aspects can include, the lean principles, lean wastes, value and non-value, any of the lean tools, six sigma principles, any of the six sigma tools or techniques, the concept of CAPA, the concept or tools associated with Design for Six Sigma.

2. Describe the revisions of the concept/tool and outline how this revision is more appropriate for today’s environment.

3. Provide an example to demonstrate how the new tool/concept could be used.

4. Video – Develop a 5 minute video summarising your research methodology; reference sources used and the key findings for each section. The video should be a voiceover on a screen recording. This could be done in Powerpoint or any form of screen recording software (Screencast-o-matic). Same the video as an mp4 file.

5. References – Provide a reference section outlining your sources. Link the summary point in the
Infographic to your reference section. Select the top 8 references that you used and upload the complete reference article onto Moodle as part of your submission - Use Harvard referencing
