Highlights
Description
In this assessment, you will conduct an audit of your knowledge and skills in relevant secondary 7-10 curriculum documents and devise a related professional learning plan. You will also reflect on the process and outcomes.
Year 7 to 10 teachers are expected to be able to teach the full curriculum for their teaching area as outlined in curriculum documents in their relevant State or Territory. This assessment consists of:
1. A skills audit of your knowledge and skills for the content contained in relevant curriculum documents.
2. The formulation of a professional learning plan.
3. A reflection on the outcomes of the skills audit and its relevance to supporting your professional engagement as outlined in the APST.
What do I need to do?
Before preparing your reflection, you must undertake the following:
Step 1: Conduct a skills audit.

Step 2: Develop a professional learning plan.
Using SMART goals as a scaffolding tool, develop a professional learning plan to address your identified areas for growth in your skills audit. Usually one SMART Goal per content descriptor: a minimum of four (4) and no more than eight (8). This is not a hypothetical exercise: you are identifying activities that you will undertake and may commence enacting this plan before submission.
Step 3: Write a reflective essay
Your reflective essay should evaluate the processes and outcomes of your skills audit and professional learning plan. It should demonstrate how your professional learning is underpinned by relevant and recent 21st-century resourcing and research. You should commence your essay with a rationale for professional learning that considers the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) and its implications for student learning. You should then provide a reflection on the process and outcomes of your skills audit and its relationship to your professional learning plan.
Your reflection should:
