You are working as a migration agent working for a busy migration practice. Your supervisor receives the below email and asks you to meet this new client as he is too busy to take on an urgent case.

Question 1

You have agreed to meet Fin via an online meeting, given the urgent nature of their request.

Your supervisor has recommended that you first consider a Migration Agent’s professional obligations during an interview with a new client and prepare for your interview with those obligations in mind.

Your task is to:

• Identify three (3) professional obligations under the Code of Conduct that a Registered Migration Agent must comply with in an initial interview with a client, and explain them in your own words.
• Provide an outline of the interview you are about to conduct, in which you:
• Identify only five (5) questions that you would ask your new client, and explain the relevance of each question (ie, why the information is important).
• Explain what you would do to ensure that you comply with those Code of Conduct requirements you have identified above.

Builds on your understanding of the structure and foundations of our legal system.
