PROJ6002 - Design & Construction Assignment Help:
Task:
1. The bungalow is constructed on strip footings.
2. External walls are double brick veneer (two skins of brickwork with a cavity). Internal partition walls are constructed using timber studwork.
3. The floor is supported on brick piers and timber joists. Floorboards specified are Tongue & Groove pine.
4. The roof is tiled, laid upon timber-trussed rafters with external gutters.
5. Internal finish is plaster on brick finished with emulsion paint.
6. Construction is by direct labour specially hired for the purpose. This includes specialist trades such as electrics and plumbing.
7. The work is financed by a bank loan, which is paid four-weekly after regular site inspections to monitor/approve progress.
8. Labour is paid weekly. Suppliers and plant hire are paid under a traditional 30 day account system. Materials and plant must be ordered two weeks before site requirement.
9. The labour rates are $30 and $45 per hour for labourers and tradesmen respectively. The work week is based upon a 50 hour week.
10. The schedule and cost management plans must be developed to present all scenarios* from estimated durations and costs of each activity using the three-point estimating technique. In the best-case scenario, the project can be completed 20% faster than the given schedule whereas in the worst case scenario, the duration required to complete each activity is increased by 50%.
* For individual submissions, each student will provide project schedules and budget baselines for the pessimistic and estimated scenarios.
* For pair submissions, each pair will provide project schedules and budget baselines for optimistic, pessimistic and estimated scenarios.
* For group submissions of 3 students, each group will provide project schedules and budget baselines for all scenarios i.e. optimistic, most-likely, pessimistic and estimated scenarios.
