The background should present existing knowledge, theory/frameworks, views and debate related to the topic area to make a case for the value of focusing on your specific topic area.

• Spatial / geographical / historical / resource considerations
• Ethical considerations (social, cultural, political, access, equity, risks)

Project methodology explanations, including:

• Goals / intended outcomes / deliverables - how will the project address the issue/challenges?
