The Multimodal Assessment (Lazarus) Using the BASIC- Assessment, analyse the case presented below. You will be assessed on accuracy and inclusion of material in the correct modalities. When writing material from the case study, be careful in the way you present the information to be clear which information is directly reported or observed, and which you are hypothesising about. Complete your Multimodal Assessment on the answer form provided on Blackboard. You may use point form. Do not exceed one page. Any answers exceeding one page will not be marked. Remember, the multimodal assessment is a way of starting to structure the information that you have about a client and to give you a framework for understanding the major issues and themes for this particular client in this particular situation. Some of the information is current and some is past you need to decide what is relevant.

Part 2. Case conceptualisation questions On the answer form provided on blackboard you will find a series of questions about the case below. Please answer these case conceptualisation questions on the answer form provided. Do not exceed 5 pages. Any answers exceeding 5 pages will not be marked. Formatting should be 1.5 spacing, with 2cm margins. You can delete the questions themselves from the answer form, but please number your responses. As you have limited space, you will need to think about the questions beforehand in order to summarise and integrate the information provided rather than repeat individual items of information. You will be marked according to the demonstrated integration of information into a conceptualisation of the case.

Demographics The client, Lucy, is 22 years old and lives in a share house in Bentley with two other housemates. She is the eldest of 3 siblings and grew up on a property just outside Busselton. She moved to the city a year after completing school to study and has predominantly resided in Perth since, though visits home several times a year. She does not have a long-term partner. In addition to her university studies, she currently works casually at a cafe. Presentation and presenting problem Lucy arrived 10 minutes early for her appointment. She indicated that she had initially contacted her unit coordinator with concerns about her ability to perform a required assignment involving a presentation. She indicated that she has become increasingly unsettled, feels as though she has been struggling in a number of areas of her life, and in particular has been questioning her motivation and ability to complete her degree. Her unit coordinator suggested that she might benefit from speaking with someone through the counselling service.
